Rajasthan, the land of desert, is the largest state of India by area. Rajasthan was formed on 30 March 1949 as the state of India. Till then Rajasthan was known as Rajputana - the land of Rajput Kings. Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan state of India. Rajasthan is located in the northwest of India and covers 10.4% area of India. Largest part of India-Pakistan border lies in Rajasthan. Today's Rajasthan is divided into 33 districts and 7 divisions.

Rajasthan has a wide range of geography, culture, festivals, heritage and languages. This is the reason that Rajasthan has many attractions for travel and tourism industry. According to a statistics, approximately 14% of foreign tourists must visit Rajasthan, out of the total foreign tourists come on India tour.

Rajasthan is globally famous in travel and tourism industry for its hospitality, culture, unique food, colorful festivals, villages, forts, old havelis, temples, desert, lakes, hill station, wildlife, folk songs and folk dances. It makes Rajasthan a fourth most visiting tourist destination of India in both foreign tourism and domestic tourism.

Different cities of Rajasthan have various tourist attractions and world heritage sites. Jaipur - the Pink City is the one vertex of golden triangle of Indian tourism, Udaipur is famous as the City of Lakes, Jodhpur - the Sun City is famous for forts, Ajmer is well known for Khwaja Sahib, Bikaner, Barmer, Jaisalmer are the famous tourist places in Rajasthan for sand dunes and desert. Alwar and Ranthambore have National Tiger Reserves; Bharatpur has Keoladeo National Park and bird sanctuary. Mount Abu of Rajasthan is worldwide known as a beautiful hill station and for Dilwara Jain temples.

This is not the end of the list of tourist attractions in Rajasthan, but it is the beginning. Rajasthan welcome all the guests with the culture of "Padharo Mhare Des" and treat the guests as God. After all, hospitality is just not a practice in Rajasthan, but is in blood of Rajasthan!
