ऊँट को रेगिस्तान का जहाज कहा जाता है, और राजस्थान रेगिस्तान की भूमि है. अतः ऊँट राजस्थान के गाँवों में रहने वाले लोगों की ज़िंदगी का एक अभिन्न अंग है. ऊँट उनके लिये एक पालतू पशु से कहीं बढकर है. राजस्थान के गाँवों में आप सजे-धजे ऊँट देख सके हैं, जिनकी कमर पर तरह-तरह से बाल काट कर अलग-अलग आकृतियाँ बना कर ऊंटों को सजाया जाता है, उनकी पारंपरिक रंग-बिरंगी पोशाकें, काठी आदि देखते ही मन को मोह लेती हैं. सचमुच यह सब आपकी छुट्टियों को मजेदार व यादगार बना देने के लिये काफी है.
