In an international survey Jaipur was ranked the 7th best place to visit in Asia and in another poll it was ranked third among twelve major Indian cities.

According to "Travel & Leisure Company", New York; Jaipur is ranked the 12^th best place to visit in the world in "World Best Award-2009".

Modern infrastructural facilities are developing fast, and in many cases surpass those of larger cities like Delhi and Kolkata. The city is expanding rapidly and has become a hot spot for development in Rajasthan. Jaipur International Airport is located at a satellite location of Sanganer.

Jaipur has a well maintained road network with sufficiently broadened roads and multi-story flyovers. Traffic lights are with close circuit cameras. Police control room (PCR) vans are being equipped with latest technologies to monitor locations and help maintain law and order.

New colonies are of grid like patterns (sectors and blocks) with International living standards and well maintained parks & gardens. Mansarovar housing colony is the largest housing colony in Asia. In modern Jaipur many shopping malls, multiplexes, cinema halls, star category hotels, international food chains and amusement parks offer an urban lifestyle to Jaipurites.

Indian Premier League matches and many International cricket matches organized in SMS stadium of Jaipur already highlighted Jaipur at international level.

Water

The major rivers passing through the Jaipur district are Banas and Banganga. The ground water resources to the extent of about 28.65 million cubic meters are available in the district.   

Electricity

Jaipur district is receiving the hydro-electric power, supplied by the Chambal Hydel System. Out of total 2,131 villages in the district, all were electrified as on March 2000.   

Air Transport

Jaipur Airport is situated at Sanganer, 13 km from Jaipur.  It is the only international air port in Rajasthan.   

Rail Transport

Jaipur district is connected with both broad gauge and meter gauge rail routes with many of the districts of Rajasthan as well as with major centers of neighboring states and far away states.   

Road Transport

Jaipur city is the capital of the state and is centrally located. The National Highway No.8 links Delhi to Ahmedabad and No.11 linking Bikaner to Agra passes through Jaipur district to a total length of 366 kms. The total length of different types of roads in the district was about 4,102 kms as of March 2000.
