Agra is most prominent tourist place of India and has a big mark on world's tourism map due to Taj Mahal. Agra is one vertex of golden triangle of tourism of India.  Other two vertices are Delhi and Jaipur. India tour is incomplete without a visit of Taj Mahal which is also in the list of Seven Wonders of World.

Taj Mahal Agra

Agra city is in Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. There are three world famous heritage monuments in Agra, namely Taj Mahal, Red Fort and Fatehpur Sikri. All three heritage monuments are in UNESCO World Heritage List. Some other attractions for tourists during Agra tour are Sikandara, Itmad-ud-Daulah, Radha Swami Samadhi and Soor Sarovar Bird Sanctuary.

Climate of Agra


Climate of Agra is similar to all cities of North India. During summers, its very hot and the temperature reaches to 45 degree Celsius, whereas in winters Agra remains very cold and foggy. Temperature reaches to 5-6 degree Celsius in winter. Rainfall in Agra is generally high.

Cuisine of Agra


Although both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food is available in Agra, but Mughlai cuisine of Agra is very special. In addition to this, a sweet dish made of pumpkin and sugar known as "Agra ka Petha" is world famous. Agra ka Petha is available in many flavors. Agra tour is incomplete without eating Agra ka Petha.

Special Attraction for Tourists


Taj Mahal, Red Fort and Fatehpur Sikri are the main attractions for tourists in Agra. Other attractions in Agra are Moti Masjid (Pearl Mosque), Nagina Masjid (Gem Mosque), Jahangir's Palace, Khas Mahal, Shish Mahal, Diwan-E-Khaas, Diwan-E-Aam, Ladies Bazar, Amar Singh Gate, Musamman Burj, Chini ka Rauza, Itimad-ud-Daulah Tomb and Akbar's Mausoleum are the main attractions and most visited places of Agra.

Important Note:

1.  Taj Mahal is a mausoleum therefore everybody has to maintain discipline and peace.

2.  Eatable are not allowed in the campus of Taj Mahal to keep it clean and pollution free.

3.  There is a mosque inside Taj Mahal complex so that everybody has to maintain decorum.

4.  It is advisable to visit Taj Mahal at least twice at two different time span to watch the actual glory of Taj Mahal. Best is to visit Taj Mahal at dawn and dusk in a day.

5.  Special arrangements are there for visiting Taj Mahal in night hours for 5 days span, i.e. two days before the full moon to two days after full moon. Advance booking is compulsory for this special visit.

6.  As there is a mosque in Taj Mahal hence Taj Mahal remain close for tourists on every Friday.

7.  Photography and video shooting is not allowed in the part of Taj Mahal where mausoleum of Mumtaz Mahal and Shah Jahan. It is requested to all to follow these guidelines during Taj Mahal tour so that the religious feelings of anybody should not hurt.
